On October 3, 2022, a ceremony was held at a hotel in Dhaka, Bangladesh, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of our business partnership with Progressive Engineering Corporation, our distributor in Bangladesh.

The event was attended by many of our business partners in Bangladesh, as well as representatives from Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, and was a great success.

The atmosphere at the ceremony was warm and friendly, with greetings from distinguished guests such as Mr. N. Amin, President of Progressive Engineering Corporation, and Mr. Motokazu Inaba, our President and CEO.

Focusing on sales and service of Mitsubishi Electric’s factory automation (FA) and power distribution/control equipment to our business partners in Bangladesh, Progressive Engineering Corporation has made great efforts to promote Mitsubishi Electric products, including the opening of an authorized FA Service Shop in April 2016, to provide after-sales services for Mitsubishi Electric FA equipment.

Since the opening of our Dhaka Representative Office in Bangladesh in November 2018, we have focused our efforts on timely market research and information gathering, while also providing detailed customer support and making further improvements to our services through the provision of assistance to local distributors.

We will continue to contribute to industrial development in Bangladesh as we apply the experience and know-how we have accumulated over 50 years of businesses in the Asian market.

Setsuyo Enterprise operated booths at two exhibitions in Taipei, the 2022 Taipei Int’l Industrial Automation Exhibition (“Automation TAIPEI”), held in August, and SEMICON Taiwan 2022, held in September, where we showcased Mitsubishi Electric’s latest FA products and practical solution demos.

At Automation TAIPEI (August 24–27), we set up joint booths with Mitsubishi Electric Taiwan, based on the theme of “Your Solution Partner for Smarter Manufacturing,” working together with six e-F@ctory Alliance partners, four Robot System Integrators, and two equipment manufacturers to exhibit solutions tailored to the challenges our customers face for each step of the engineering chain—manufacturing, operation and maintenance, and implementation. This year, we not only exhibited Mitsubishi Electric’s FA equipment but also new software, such as the MELSOFT Gemini 3D simulator software, MELSOFT MaiLab, and SCADA, presenting cutting-edge solutions and software that replicate the manufacturing environment in digital space to support PDCA in the field. Approximately 3,000 attendees visited our booth.

At SEMICON Taiwan (September 14–16), we exhibited a demo of picking operations using SWM-G and MELSERVO-J5, which provide software-based high-precision motion control. Approximately 4,000 people visited our booth.
With its presence in the Taiwanese market, we look forward to further contributing to the development of industry in Taiwan through joint e-F@ctory/Mitsubishi Electric proposal-making activities for factory automation equipment, and collaborative business with our partners.

On June 8, 2022, we conducted online corporate training on factory automation (FA) products— our main business areas—for students at the International Trade Institute (ITI) in Taiwan.

Held in collaboration with the Osaka Office of the Taiwan Trade Center (TAITRA), the training aimed to nurture businesspeople in Taiwan who are well versed in the various language of the world, and was provided through three bases, ITI (Hsinchu City, Taiwan), our overseas affiliate SETSUYO ENTERPRISE (New Taipei City, Taiwan), and our company SETSUYO ASTEC CORPORATION (Osaka City, Japan), for 34 students enrolled in a Japanese language class at ITI, who are working hard every day to acquire language skills and business knowledge.

The training consisted of a keynote speech by our President & CEO Motokazu Inaba titled “Factory Automation (FA) Supporting Asian Manufacturing Industries and Activities by Specialized Trading Companies,” an introduction of our company, and a question-and-answer session, followed by a discussion between ITI students and members of our Sales Department on the theme of “Examining Effective Sales Methods for the Globally Expanding Taiwanese Manufacturing Industry.”

In the discussion, we received proposals prepared in advance by ITI students for flexible, unique sales approaches aimed at building win-win relationships with product users and trading companies, culminating in a very fruitful and productive training session.

We would like to express our appreciation to the Growth Industry Promotion Office of Osaka Prefectural Government’s Department of Commerce, Industry and Labor for attending the training as an observer, and to the Taiwan Trade Center for their assistance in organizing the event.

Finally, We would like to wish all ITI students the best of luck and success in their future endeavors.

Setsuyo Enterprise operated booths at Touch Taiwan - Smart Manufacturing Taiwan 2022, held in April 2022 at the Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei, showcasing Mitsubishi Electric’s latest FA equipment and practical solution demos.

At the exhibition, we introduced a virtual model of our smart watch production line, which utilizes IoT/AI centered on Mitsubishi Electric’s “e-F@ctory” smart factory concept, as well as Mitsubishi Electric’s latest FA product demonstration equipment, including the “MELSOFT Gemini” 3D simulator and the “iQ-R” recorder unit, as products that constitute this model line. We welcomed many visitors primarily from the display industry and received a positive response.

Other partner companies also exhibited their products, which included an industrial infrared system for AOI by ADE Technology Inc., a wire-saving system by Anywire Corporation, and motion software by Movensys Inc.

With its presence in the Taiwanese market, we look forward to further contributing to the development of industry in Taiwan through joint e-F@ctory/Mitsubishi Electric proposal-making activities for factory automation equipment, and collaborative business with our partners.
